I'm going to attempt to write more regularly.
I gotta say, life is pretty good at the moment.
I've started an exercise regime 7 days ago. I got tired of not being strong enough.
I got my drivers license, on th first try!
I did, successfully preset 'A Christmas Wish', and I'm now planning a musical for the end of this year.
Since my brother recently got married, I'm now the only unmarried brother left. I actually had one or two old ladies poke me and tell me, 'You're next".
Anyways, as you can see, life is treating me very well at the moment.

IRC DragonBallZ
So I've been wondering what to say. I've haven't added to this blog in a long time.
So...
I've decided to start something new.
I spend a lot of time on chat lines, most notably mIRC. I got chatting one day, with a good friend of mine, when we got the idea to code an IRC game. One hour later we had the story for the game. We decided to base it on the internationally acclaimed television series, Dragon Ball Z.
There were two things, very important to us, from the start.
1. Stay as true to the series as possible.
2. Make it fun.
So I spent about 3 months coding a PVT version. That is, the game is played via private chat. All you do is double click on the persons nick to PVT them. This gave us two problems. The first, the lag. The game was unbelievably slow. Why? Because, when the player typed in a command, that information had to travel to the server, which sits in cape town, then to my bot, which sits on my computer in Pietermaritzburg, then the bot gets a chance the reply. The bot sends its reply back to the server, which sends the reply back to the player. The other problem was security. It was too easy to cheat, and too difficult to monitor.
So we left the game alone for a while. About four months later we got another idea. What if, we were to convert it to a DCC game. We weighed up the pros and the cons. It would make the game so much faster, because you connect directly with the bot. Information bypasses the server. But, it would take months to recode 3000 lines of code to work in a DCC. Security would be much tighter, and I would be able to keep tabs on every single player, plus any admin I recruited. But, for the first 9 months, I would have to be online every single day.
It was a difficult decision. However, it was made much easier by a two chatters whose nicks were Razman and Gavin. Razman allowed the bot to be run on the actual server. Both of them also started helping me.
Well, six months later, and the bot is finally up and running. We started with 3000 lines, and we now have nearly 15000. There are over 18 modules. I have four admin who help me take care of things. Razman, likes to be called the janitor. Gavin, along with Razman, are scripting admin. Matuew, my friend from the beginning, and SaiYaN are the help admin. And I have the title of, Lead Scripting Admin.
Now for some details:
The bot is run on FireServ. The url's for this server are: irc.fireserv.za.net, inferno.fireserv.za.net and earthquake.fireserv.za.net.
The channel is called #DragonBallZ
And my nick is Red-Dwarf.
I'll continue to add in updates here, until the IRC DragonBallZ site is up and running.

16th december 2006 "D Day"
Well, all my careful planning, practising, and perfecting comes down to this.
The play is tomorrow. "A Christmas Wish" will be on stage for the irst time tomorrow at 7:00pm. I'd like to give a full cast list.

The Dagger Of Laogafna
The Dagger Of Laogafna
No one knows when it was made, but what we do know is that it was made a very long time ago.This story starts back in 67BC. A man found a dagger lying in a river. The blade was silver andvery shiny. The handle looked like gold, and was encrusted with small jewels and gems. Thedagger was, 30cm long. The man, a pauper, picked it up. Its worth was immediatly noticable. Themans name was Laogafna, thus the name of the dagger. For a reason that we will never know,the man did not sell it. Instead he began to use it. He found that it could cut through,absolutly anything. It sliced through wood, rocks, bronze and even iron, as if they werebutter. No matter what he used it for, it never lost its incredible sharpness or its shine forthat matter. The man only kept the dagger for six months, because he died mysteriously. He wassearching the river like he always did, when his heart abruptly stopped beating. He died aquick death. His son kept the dagger for six months, then died in the same way. We do not knowwhat happened to the dagger between 66BC and 44BC, but in 44BC it found a new owner. That ofJulius Caesar. Those of you that learned about the roman empire in school, will know thatJulius Caesar died in 44BC. Is it any coincedence that he found the dagger exactly six months,before he died.
The dagger claimed lots of victoms. Some how though, it still remained fairly unknown. The deathswere always six months after the owner touched the dagger, so no connection was ever made betweenthe death and the dagger. Then, in 1821, it claimed the life of a much more famous person.
Napoleon, as it was discovered, found the dagger exactly six months before he died.
Since 1880, its existence becomes blurred. Alleged sightings began to arise, but none were everconcrete. Even today, on the odd occasion, an alleged sighting will rise out of the works. Sowhat do we actualy know about the dagger. Well, for one, the handle i not, as it was origonallythought, constructed of gold. Nor was the blade made of silver. It is still unknown how it wasactually made. Fact is, we'll probably never find out. I wouldn't want to run any tests on it.By the way, it is said that the dagger carries an enscription on its blade. 'Letum volo evenio mox'.After hours of studying, we found that the enscription was an old form of latin. Roughlytranslated it means 'Death will come soon'.

8th december 2006 "The Play"
The question that everyone's been asking me for the past two weeks. The answer unfortunatly still has an 'if' in it. But its better to start with the question isn't it.
Question: Is the play actually still on? If so, when exactly is it?
Answer: IF, I have a complete cast at the next three practises, then yes.
IF, it is actually on, it will be on Sunday the 17th of December, at night.
So there you have it. if only it were that simple. I have to give an answer to the pastor by sunday morning, so that it can be announced in church. After all, you can't announce it on the morning before the play. Now, the next practise is on Tuesday. So the obvious question is, how can I give an answer like that, when i have to tell pastor before the next practise. Well, thats what makes this complicated. I am still confident that the play will go ahead. So, having said that, wish me luck.
P.S Just in case my pastor happens to be reading this, I will have an answer for you... probably saturday evening.

3rd december 2006 'Goals Update'
I said I keep you updated with my goals so, here goes.
1. I have got my learners licence, and I am busy learning how to drive. Not as easy as I thought it would be.
2 I have started my business. Which reminds me I must put another advert in the paper.
3. I still have to get my A+
4. (New Goal) I will present 'A christmas wish' before christmas this year to my church. Due to time constraints, and other complications, its been difficult. Basically, I left casting till way to late. But, now that I finally have a complete cast, I feel confident that I can put present a sound performance. Wish me luck
